Call for New and Executive Members: Screenwriting at Victoria College

Screenwriting at Victoria College aims to provide a high-quality learning environment for students who are interested in learning the art and craft of writing scripts for movies. By learning from reputable screenwriting books and screenplays, students will learn the fundamental principles and techniques in screenwriting, ultimately preparing them to pursue screenwriting as a future profession. We welcome all interested students to sign up for general membership, especially Vic undergrads.

Screenwriting Workshop (2022)- Call for Screenplay Submissions

As part of our club’s regular learning curriculum throughout the year, Screenwriting at Victoria College (SVC) will be hosting a screenwriting workshop during the Winter semester, where budding student screenwriters will have the chance to receive feedback on their screenplays-in-progress. This live round table discussion will be led by SVC’s faculty advisor, UTSC instructor, and acclaimed Canadian filmmaker Daniel Scott Tysdal. Click here to submit a screenplay.

Want to write some stories or make some friends?

Vic. Fantasies focuses on long fiction writings.

Publication: We encourage students to write long stories (about 50,000 words) and to seek ideas to complete their books.

Inspiration: Open to everyone in UofT online via discord, we will be hosting online writing events weekly to inspire student’s creativity.

Community: We aim to build a welcoming community for all writers, the club will be a place where we can share ideas, help each other in writing, or just hang out and write stuff together.

Certain VUSAC and Levy executive positions receive monetary compensation. This is done in an effort to eliminate financial barriers and hopefully make some of Vic's most demanding and time-consuming student leadership opportunities more accessible to all students.
